Happy Birthday! Huisgenoot turns 100 today!

Cape Town - The Afrikaans weekly family magazine, Huisgenoot, is celebrating its 100th birthday today.

The mag which was first published in 1916 has the highest circulation figures of any South African magazine.

The first ever Huisgenoot cover had President Paul Kruger on it and the first ever ad in the magazine was by Stuttafords.

Huisgenoot’s office was decorated with hundreds of red balloons and cupcakes on Friday to celebrate this massive milestone!
