Here's what we know about #TheNamelessBand

Johannesburg – For weeks we’ve seen the hype leading up to the launch of #TheNamelessBand.

Countless local stars were snapped with posters promoting the group, including Bonang, Boity, and Minnie Dlamini. 

Well, the wait is finally over, and the former faceless group has been revealed to the world. 

Here’s all you need to know about #TheNamelessBand:

They’re a trio 

The group is made up of three members – Gugu Zulu (24), MaBlerh (32), and Sky, real name Scelo Yeni, (31). All three members hail from KZN. 

Music for the soul 

In case you were wondering what to expect from the group in terms of their sound – they classify themselves as an Afro Soul group. The trio bring an eclectic mix of 90’s R&B and smooth urban sounds to the genre of Afro Soul.

No stranger to the spotlight 

Fans may know Gugu from her role on popular SABC 1 soapie, Uzalo, as well as The Alliance. Also no stranger to the spotlight, MaBlerh has had a role in many sphere’s of the entertainment industry including radio and TV. 

Their debut single 

The groups debut single, Masiyeke, which is isiZulu for “let us let it go” drops on 21 April. The song is described as a “beautiful heart-wrenching ballad, that packs a serious punch, about a situation familiar to all adults that have ever been in a relationship.”
