Jade Hubner on landing a cameo in Netflix series The Indian Detective

Johannesburg – Top Billing star Jade Hubner does it all! It was in 2017 that we learned the TV personality had a passion for singing, and now Jade is proving that she is a talented actor as well. 

In December 2017 Jade made a cameo appearance on the Netflix series The Indian Detective, which stars Canadian comedian Russell Peters. Shot on location in Cape Town, Mumbai, and Toronto, the show follows police officer Doug D’Mello from Toronto who inadvertently becomes involved in a murder investigation while visiting his father in Mumbai. 

Speaking to Channel 24 about landing her role on the show, Jade says she was ecstatic when she got the call. “I got to work with the most professional team that I have ever worked with, which was such a blessing.” 

Telling us more about her character, she explains: “My character is an American tourist travelling in Mumbai that gets caught up in an illegal trade trying to make some extra money. In the end she endangers her life, and dies.”

With a move to Johannesburg on the horizon, Jade hopes to take on more local and international acting roles in future. “I would love to get a permanent role on a local series such as Isidingo, Generations, Uzalo, Skeem Saam, Muvhango or Scandal. I was also a lead role in an American Horror film, Hell Trip, but the release date has not been announced yet.”
