Joyous Celebration founders Pastor Jabu Hlongwane and Lindelani Mkhize have issued a statement assuring fans of the group that news about it being in an accident is ‘fake’. This comes after some websites claimed that the group’s bus was involved in an accident.

THE FAKE REPORT

The report claims that the group was on their way back from an event at about 3am when the accident occurred. The driver fell asleep behind the wheel and the bus got off the road into the bushes where it hit a huge rock and rolled twice. The report went on to claim that 10 people died and others were in a critical condition in hospital.

DISHEARTENED FOUNDERS OF THE GROUP

“We wish to assure our fans that all our members are in good health, and we are gearing up to serenade the Essence Festival Durban patrons on Sunday, 1 October with Bishop TD Jakes and Kimberley in November. We are also hard at work, preparing for Joyous 22 and all we can say about this is “watch this space’,” says Lindelani.

Pastor Jabu described the news false and that it was disheartening to read about such. “The distasteful news has disturbed a lot of loyal MTN Joyous Celebration fans and supporters, who have been calling our offices hours on end to confirm this report,” says Pastor Jabu.

Adding that they are concluding their 21st national tour praying with communities to call on God the Almighty to heal our land.
