Kwaito star Tsekeleke dies after complications with diabetes

Cape Town - Kwaito star Mixon 'Tsekeleke' Tholo died on Tuesday night after a long sickbed.

According to EWN, Tholo was admitted to a hospital in Vosloorus due to complications related to diabetes.

The local singer was best known for his hit song Fatty Boom Boom

Nathi Mthethwa, Minister of Arts and Culture Minister, shared his condolences on social media, writing: “We send our sincere condolences to the family and friends of a sensational avant-garde of Kwaito, Tsekeleke, who has sadly passed on.”

In an interview with Sunday World in October last year the singer revealed that doctors wanted to amputate his leg after he was diagnosed with diabetes. The singer however refused the treatment at the time and said he’d "rather die" than have his leg amputated.

Tholo in 2016 also turned to controversial pastor Paseka "Mboro" Motsoeneng from the Incredible Happenings Church for divine intervention. "After watching people on television saying they were healed by him, I decided to come to him for help. He is my last hope," Tholo told Sunday World
