Cape Town - We talk to your favourite local celebs about what they think makes a good relationship.
Just in time for Valentine's Day.
Here's what they had to say:
Actress Anji Woodley:
There are a few! But one I work on everyday is to see and acknowledge all the great, big or small things my husband does.
Listening. Showing interest in what your partner is doing or saying, their goals and dreams.
Ladies, your husband or partner isn't telepathic, if something is not right or has upset you. Just say so. As obvious as it may seem.
TV Presenter Stacey Holland:
A friendship taken a step further. Romance and love, a physical attraction to someone is important, trust is key but many of those things change or can be affected, but if you are great friends it is amazing how you sail those stormy seas together.
So the question becomes what makes a good friendship? I think effective and constructive communication is a vital. Life-long friends have laughed together, fought with each other, patched things up. They just 'get' each other!
TV Presenter Bailey Schneider:
Honesty, communication and respect and you need all three to work synonymously.
Beauty & Image Specialist Francois Louw:
I firmly believe that we should live by these 'rules' for a solid foundation for a great relationship:
Laugh together - laughter is a very powerful thing!
TV Presenter Roxy Burger:
Friendship. You need to be friends because your friendship will be the essence of your love.
Radio Presenter Lindy Hibbard:
Honesty, having similar values and sharing the same sense of humour.
TV Presenter Liezel van der Westhuizen
Communication and understanding each other's love language.
Actress Mishqah Parthiephal:
I think the main foundation is trust and honesty. When you have the fundamental aspects as the anchor of your relationship the rest will come easy!
Actor Loyiso Macdonald:
A good relationship needs honesty and integrity as its foundation. We need to be honest and upfront with each other at all times.
