LISTEN: AKA on Sway

Cape Town – AKA has followed in Cassper Nyovest’s footsteps appearing on Sway’s morning show. The local rapper gets a lot of praise from the American DJ sway who introduces AKA by speaking about his career path including award nominations, album sales and performances including his most recent spot at the BET Experience. 

AKA sits down and immediately starts talking about his beef with Cassper without saying much except “who is Drake and who is Meek Mill (sic)”.  

Then - speaking about his exponential growth - he says: “The world wants to hear what South Africa and Africa has to offer.” 

Later on in the interview Sway dives into the beef with Cassper again. And AKA says “we were too similar.” But later mentions that him and Nyovest are cool.

Then AKA expands on how the South African and broader African music scenes function in general. Sway plays one of the rapper’s tunes One Time. The star also spits a freestyle.
