Cape Town - Kwêla presenter Therese Benade got engaged on Thursday night.
The man who asked the popular KykNET personality for her hand in marriage is the well-known Cape architect, Christian Bam.
Therese, 39, and Christian, 50, have known each other for about a year and started dating in February.
"Christian caught me off guard, but of course I immediately said yes," said an elated Therese.
"I know every woman says it when the man of her dreams asks her to marry him, but I'm really the happiest woman in the world today."
The couple got engaged at the Cape Grace Hotel in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
Therese is especially known for her roles in the KykNET soap Villa Rosa, and Song vir Katryn.
