MAMAs makes its way to Johannesburg for the first time ever

Johannesburg – For the first time ever the MTV African Music Awards will be hosted in Johannesburg. 

At a star-studded event on Tuesday, MTV Base made the surprise announcememt that the 2016 MAMAs will be hosted in Johannesburg on 22 October at the Ticketpro Dome. 

MAMA 2016 recognises and rewards musicians and achievers who have made the biggest impact on African music and youth culture over the previous year. The ceremony will feature African and international acts, along with the show’s signature cross-genre and cross-border collaborations. 

Acts set to perform on the night, as well as nominees, have yet to be announced.
