Cape Town – The news of former Generations actor Mandla Hlatshwayo’s death sent shockwaves across the country on Monday morning.
The 40-year-old was fatally shot at Meli Lounge in Pimville, Soweto whilst allegedly trying to assist two women who were being robbed.
The JoziFM DJ, who earlier that day was giving out hugs at a fun run event, died whilst trying to help others.
And that’s exactly how his closes friends will remember him.

Police spokesperson Captain Hitler Mgwenya confirmed that two people were shot dead at a pub in Pimville whilst trying to help other people in the pub who were being robbed.

Mandla spent Sunday afternoon with his colleague and close friend Mpho Mhlongo at the JoziFM Walk 4 Life Fun Run. "We spent the day there. He was handing out medals, taking pictures and giving hugs. He was a very handy person, and was helping people," Mpho said.
