Taking this into account, we’ve put together a list of South Africa’s 10 most powerful celebs based on the combined number of followers from their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts.
10. DJ Fresh
The popular 5FM DJ has a combined number of nearly 2 million followers on social media.
9. Gareth Cliff
Another radio personality, controversial presenter Gareth Cliff has just over 2 million combined followers.
8. AKA
Though one of the most talked about local stars, AKA only comes in at number 8 with just under 2.3 million combined followers.
7. Pearl Thusi
Pearl Thusi tops AKA's numbers by just a few thousand.
6. Boity
With just over 2 and a half million combined followers, Boity comes in at number 6.
5. Minnie
Although she was the first locally based South African celeb to reach one million followers on Instagram, Minnie’s combined social media followers falls just under 3 million, putting her in fifth place.
4. DJ Zinhle
DJ Zinhle takes the number 4 spot with over 3 200 000 followers.
3. Black Coffee
Black Coffee’s rise in popularity puts him in third place.
2. Cassper Nyovest
With the nearly 2 million Facebook followers alone, Cassper Nyovest comes in at number 2. He has just under 3 and a half million combined followers.
1. Bonang Matheba
Queen B* reigns supreme with over 3 and a half million combined social media followers.
