Mi Casa star shares his journey to fame

Cape Town – Making it in South Africa’s growing music industry is not always easy.

Mi Casa lead singer J’Something is one of the lucky and talented ones who has a successful career, but that doesn't mean that he has forgotten his roots.

Did you know that RJ Benjamin gave Danny K, J's number during the 2010 FIFA World Cup - this kicked off his career.

The artist posted a meaningful message on Instagram along with a picture of him from several years ago with the full story.

Here’s the text all about how he got his first big chance before Mi Casa:

“2010 I didn't even know @mot_micasa or @dr_duda... Had never written a house song... Had just finished my marketing degree... Had never been to Johannesburg... Then i got asked to sing a few songs at the Melrose Arch fan Park during the world Cup by @dannykj23 who got my number from @rjbenjamin who knew me from the studio I was working at. Thankful for people in my life... In my path...”
