Johannesburg – Minister of Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa took some time to pay tribute to actress Thuso Mbedu, wishing her well ahead of the 46th annual International Emmy Awards in New York.
The star, who was joined by industry friends for a send-off luncheon a few days ago, was nominated in the Best Actress category for the second year in a row for her performance in local drama Is’thunzi.
Sharing a few congratulatory words on social media, the minister wrote: “I take great pride in sending my best wishes to award-winning actress, @thusombedu as she attends the 46th annual International Emmy Awards as a nominee for her role in the South African drama series, Is’thunzi."
