Cape Town – South African TV personality Minki van der Westhuizen is showing off her best asset on the latest cover of Huisgenoot.
The 19 May issue is a throwback to the controversial April 1976 cover of the magazine that saw former Miss World Anneline Kriel posing in a pair of polka dot bikini bottoms.
The Anneline cover, which was published 40 years ago, caused a lot of controversy after some deemed it inappropriate for a family mag.
Minki’s cover pays homage to Anneline’s cover in celebration of Huisgenoot turning 100 this year.
Minki, a former Pasella presenter, relocated back to South Africa in December 2015 after living in London with her husband, former rugby player Ernst Joubert, and their two kids, Katerien, 2, and Elise, 16 months. She is currently the presenter of the kykNET show Boer Soek 'n Vrou.
Interesting fact: The Minki cover was shot by Misha Jordaan. Misha's father, Bernard Jordaan, photographed the original Anneline cover. So cool!
