Johannesburg – Miss SA runner-up Adé van Heerden left the country feeling proud when she made it to the top 10 finalists of the Miss World pageant.
There was one thing, however, that caught the attention of fans – the beauty queen was not wearing her original gold dress which was presented to South Africans on the day of her farewell, celebrating her departure for the prestigious event.
The gown, designed by Roxanne Pengilly, was inspired by “Africa’s golden glow”.

Instead, Adé donned a blue dress on the night, later explaining that Miss India loaned it to her after her gold gown tore.
“To everyone asking why @manushi_chhillar lent me her beautiful @bhawnarao_couture evening gown for the finale, please know that accidents happen. During the dress rehearsal my dress unfortunately tore and we were unable to fix it,” Adé wrote, going on to thank Manushi for her help.
