Cape Town – Die Antwoord has caused quite a stir once again for cultural appropriation.

Referring to their latest album's cover, which was released in September 2016, controversial artist Mtsiki Mazwai has said that she wants to take the group to the SA Human Rights Commission for disrespecting Xhosa culture.

ICYMI: Die Antwoord's latest album is called Mount Ninja & Da Nice Time Kid.  The album cover features Ninja wearing a traditional blanket and hat that is usually worn during the Xhosa circumcision ceremony.

It all started when Ntsiki tweeted the album cover on Monday. She said that the album cover made her "uncomfortable" and that she feels "disrespected and violated" as a Xhosa person.

She then proceeded to tweet The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities and asked whether this issue can be addressed.
