Cape Town - Issa throwback! - Take a look at 12 Miss South Africa contestants who competed in the Miss Universe swimwear competition. 

From Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and Melinda Bam and Ntando Kunene, our gorgeous Miss South Africas have always made us proud at the prestigious beauty pageant.

The Miss South Africa Instagram fanpage, Proudly South African Beauties, created a collage of 12 contestants who've represented the country at the Miss Universe preliminary rounds, writing: "Here's a #throwback of our Proudly SA beauties during the swimsuit portion."

Neon, animal print and floral - The swimwear competition is parade of colour and flair!    

Reigning Miss South Africa, Tamaryn Green will compete in the Miss Universe swimwear and evening gown competition on Thursday, and we can't wait to see the medical student fly the South African flag high.

2018-12-12 13:11 Johannesburg - After showing off their national costumes on Monday, Miss Universe contestants are readying themselves for one of the most important parts of the competition - the preliminary rounds. According to the Miss Universe website , the preliminary competition is "the driving force in selecting the semi-finalists."
