PICS: Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters speaks at the UN General Assembly

Cape Town - Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters represented Smile Train during the United Nations General Assembly.

Sharing photos from the conference on Instagram, Demi-Leigh wrote: "As Miss Universe, I have a global platform - and a global responsibility - to advocate for causes and issues that are important to me."

Smile Train is the world's leading cleft charity, empowering local medical professionals to provide cleft treatment in their own communities. 

Our reigning Miss South Africa, Tamaryn Green, has also been invited to address the 73rd United Nations General Assembly in New York - on creating awareness around Tuberculosis
