PICS: Former Miss South Africa Suzette van der Merwe and hubby tie the knot for a second time in South Africa!

Cape Town - Former Miss South Africa Suzette van der Merwe and her husband businessman Mark Weston celebrated their union with a second wedding ceremony in Cape Town in January.

The couple met six years ago, on a blind date, and have been engaged for five years.

Suzette and New Zealand-born Mark eloped, and married on Pink Beach on 14 December, in his home country - with only Mark's father and stepmother in attendance.

According to Huisgenoot, Suzette wore a bright pink gown designed by Gerrit Pienaar, which reminded her of her bougainvilleas at her parent's home in Stilbaai. The colour pink has been a popular hue in the couple's relationship, as Mark also wore a pink shirt when the pair met for the first time at The Palazzo Montecasino in Johannesburg.

Suzette wore a white gown from the same designer to the second ceremony which was held in Stilbaai.

According to the Afrikaans lifestyle magazine, shrimp, droëwors, chicken kebabs, peppermint tart and koeksisters were on the menu.

The venue was decorated with local flowers to match the coutryside-chic theme.

Huisgenoot reported that Suzette's daughter Skye, who also wore a white gown by Gerrit Pienaar, was the master of ceremonies.
