PICS: Here's how Lindy Hibbard's fiancé popped the question

Cape Town - Smile FM's Lindy Hibbard is officially off the market!

The Easter weekend marked a very special time in Lindy's life as her boyfriend of almost five years whisked her off on an Easter Weekend getaway to a beautiful guesthouse in Paarl called Cascade Country Manor.

It was there that Peter Lehto proposed to Lindy.

"We arrived on Friday and explored the Winelands area, did some wine tasting, had a lovely dinner at the guesthouse. On Saturday morning we took a drive and while we were having breakfast he casually mentioned there was a waterfall about 200 meters from the manor. I said I'd love to go have a look at the waterfall so after breakfast he ran up to our room to 'grab our jackets' (he was actually getting the ring) while I waited downstairs," she says.

From there they took a walk through some olive orchards.

"When we arrived at the waterfall I couldn't believe my eyes! There was a beautiful little table set for two complete with a picnic basket, bottle of champagne, a picnic blanket on the grass covered with rose petals and a huge bunch of my favourite white roses. It was so romantic. I was in shock! My hands started shaking and I couldn't stop smiling," she continues.

Then Peter said he had another surprise for her and he pulled one of her scarves out of his jacket pocket and blindfolded her with it.

"My heart started pounding! After a few seconds he said I could take the blindfold off and there he was on one knee in front of the waterfall holding out the most exquisite ring I'd ever seen. 'Will you marry me' with a crack in his voice. It was a huge yes! I'd never been so sure of anything in my life. I had a feeling it might happen some time this year but absolutely no idea it was going to happen this particular weekend. It was a huge surprise and he pulled it off beautifully without me suspecting a thing. I still can't get over how calm he was on Friday and Saturday morning." Lindy tells us with pure excitement in her voice.

When asked when she will begin planning her special day, she immediately responded with a giggle, "It started the day Peter proposed!"

As for her perfect wedding, "I'd like our wedding to reflect our personalities - classic and traditional, yet laid-back and grounded. A romantic setting with a family atmosphere, and lots of dancing!

There are no plans as to when Lindy and Peter are set to tie the knot, bit if it's up to Lindy, we know it's going to be a glamorous affair.

We wish the happy couple a lifetime of love and happiness together.
