PICS: I got a free doughnut tattoo and here's why

Cape Town – So I was sitting at my desk, just working and checking social media when I saw an Instagram post that said Dunkin Donuts was:

1. coming to SA and 2. marking the launch by giving away free tattoos at a parlour down the street from my work.

So I was like: “Ok, I’m getting a tattoo of a tasty doughnut on my arm.”

A few phone calls, ubers and e-mails later I was there at Cape Electric Tattoo about to do the damn thing.

Why? Just because I could…Oh and because I love tattoos and doughnuts.

So, actually, it was meant to be...kind of.

Here’s how it happened (with photos):

1. I got there and the first thing I had to do was fill in a lot of forms. Right at this moment, I started envisioning the look on my mom’s face when she saw my new sweet tattoo and it made my tummy feel a bit nervous.

2. Picking out the tattoo got a bit tricky. Because the lovely people from Dunkin Donuts let me pick from a bunch of templates and everything looked tasty. I chose the one with sprinkles.

3. Then came the waiting and the flood of messages from everyone I know (including my boss) telling me that I was crazy for doing this.

4. I was just like:

5. Then – the fun began – the tattoo-ing started. It was bloody and thrilling and fun.

Here’s the how it looked through the different stages:

*Just for the record, I didn't get a lifetime supply of doughnuts...or even one #justforfun.
