Police suspect suicide in Jabu Christopher Kubheka death

Cape Town - 48-year-old Yizo Yizo actor Jabu Christopher Kubheka has died in a suspected suicide. 

Police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo confirmed reports that the actor was found hanging from a butler door in his home in Soshanguve on Monday.

According to Masondo, his wife found his body hanging from the door at around 16:30. Police and paramedics were called to the scene. Kubheka was pronounced dead on arrival. 

The police are suspecting suicide as the cause of death, but have not ruled out any other possibilities.

An inquest docket has been opened following the suspected suicide.

Besides his role as Gunman in Yizo Yizo, he also appeared as Bazooka Khumba in SABC1's drama series Zone 14, as well as in TV dramas like Jacob's Cross, A Place Called Home, the soaps Zabalaza, Gold Diggers and Generations, as well as comedies like Abo Mzala, Ses'Top La and Thandeka's Diary.
