Power FM fall victim to Twitter hackers

Johannesburg – Twitter was abuzz on Wednesday after a post surfaced on Power FM’s account stating that the station had planned on firing some of their presenters.

“Tjoe bbz, they’re firing Masechaba and Lawrence and some other presenters,” the tweet, which was later deleted, read.

Shortly after another Power FM tweet was shared, saying that the stations Twitter account had been hacked.

“ANNOUNCEMENT: Our Twitter handle was hacked an hour ago. We speedily recovered it. We apologize for the unfortunate interruption.”

The station had not addressed the accusations made in the initial tweet. The Juice tried to reach out to Power FM for comment, but all attempts have been unsuccessful.
