Ray Phiri involved in reported fatal car accident

Cape Town - The Sunday Sun reports that musician Ray Phiri was allegedly involved in car accident that left two people dead.

Ray was reportedly on his way to Mbombela from Joburg when his Audi A6 crashed into two pedestrians on the Samora Machel off-ramp near the N4, Middelburg, on Sunday night. It was reported that one pedestrian died on the scene, and another was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

According to reports Ray himself was not injured and he immediately called the police when he realised that he had struck someone. 

Speaking to The Daily Sun Ray referred to the accident as a "terrible thing" and said that he doesn't feel good about what happened.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Gerald Sedibe confirmed the incident. He said a culpable homicide case is being investigated.
