Johannesburg – On Friday many of the country's A-listers gathered to watch as a new Miss South Africa was crowned at the Sun Arena in Pretoria.
Zozibini Tunzi was crowned Miss South Africa 2019, and the 25-year-old from Cape Town walks away with the title as well as R3-million in prize money and sponsorships deals.

Also present on the day was the current Miss Universe, Catriona Gray, who flew in especially for the pageant, taking her place among local stars as one of the five judges.
Speaking to Channel24 before the show, Catriona shared her advice for the lucky lady who walked away with the crown.
"I know that it's not only an amazing opportunity, but an amazing responsibility. You not only go up there with a sash that has your name, you have a sash that carries your country. And to know the responsibility and the weight of that, as long as she knows that she's being carried by a nation, she's going to have the most amazing year."
For Miss SA 2018, Tamaryn Green, it was a huge night as she finally handed her title over to her successor. While she, too, pointed out the responsibility that comes along with carrying the Miss South Africa crown, Tamaryn also advised the winner to take the time to enjoy her reign. And should she need any advice, the medical student says she is just one call away.
"All of the best. I'm always here. If you want to call me up, and you need some help or advice, I'm always here."
