Singer, Cici, set to play "gold digger" on Rhythm City

Johannesburg – Award-winning singer Busisiwe “Cici” Thwala has just added acting to her list of talents. The Bad Girl singer is set to make her debut on local soapie, Rythm City, on Friday.

Speaking to Sunday World, Cici says she never imagined she would land a role in a soapie. "This is my first acting job. I am excited and it’s been amazing to be shown the acting ropes, as I never thought I would one day be on a soapie."

The singer, who started filming in March, describes her character, Lihle, as a gold-digger. "Lihle wants to associate with the rich and famous, and always wants to be in the limelight. She wants to be popular at all costs, is greedy and is willing to do anything to get what she wants."

The muso also shared the good news with her fans on Instagram on Monday in a short statement. "Starting Friday the 10th of June," she simply said.
