South African guitar maestro Errol Dyers dies

Cape Town – eNCA reported on Saturday morning that legendary jazz guitarist Errol Dyers has died. 

The 65-year-old musician who suffered from emphysema died on Friday night reports IOL.

Dyers is best known as the pioneer of Cape Jazz/Ghoema. 

As a self-taught musician he was inspired and influenced by the rhythms and melodies of Cape Town where he was born.

During his career he performed, recorded and toured with artists such as Basil Coetzee, Winston Mankunku and Abdullah Ibrahim.
