Steven Lee Lewis chats about life after FOUR

Johannesburg – The hearts of young ladies all around the country were a little heavier when X Factor SA winners FOUR announced that they have spilt up.

Speaking to The Juice about their breakup, Steven Lee Lewis says he did not want to let go.

"To be honest I was the last person that wanted to leave because I really believed in Four. But the guys kind of wanted to test new waters and try their own thing. They are younger than me as well so maybe they wanted to try their own thing. I guess at the end it was a mutual decision. There wasn't any real, big reason. It was basically just to try something new," he said.

On Tuesday the singer released his first solo piece since confirming the split - a cover of DJ Merlon's Koze Kuse. "It was like, a year or two ago, one of the biggest songs in the country. It's one of my personal favourite songs and in my opinion I thought it's one of the songs that I could do my rendition of very well," he tells us, adding that the song is his way of showing people where he is going with his new act.

The star is also planning to drop an album, but first he's looking for a killer single or two to release. "For the near future I think first I'm looking for a hot single that's going to really show my product and my brand. So firstly a single or two then definitely an album."
