Thabo Mbeki to talk on Power 98.7

Cape Town - Former President Thabo Mbeki will, in a rare occasion, talk about his life and his work as part of a double celebration of his birthday and that of Power 98.7 - Gauteng based commercial talk radio station.

Power 98.7 will host the first ever Chairman's Conversation in celebration of the stations four year's birthday. This will be an annual event hosted by the Station Chairman, Given Mkhari on the occasion of Power's birthday hosting different thought leaders.

On Thursday, 13 July, the 19:30 slot will be converted into Chairman's Conversation, which will be broadcasted on Power 98.7, Capricorn FM and eNCA.

The station's founder and Chairman, Mkhari says Power 98.7 is granting South Africans an opportunity to "hear about the life and times of one of South Africa's greatest statesman of our time who has just celebrated his 75th birthday.

The conversation hopes to afford the nation an opportunity to reflect on President Mbeki's life story, his impact on South African's history as well as the challenges and opportunities that lies ahead.It will further also critic the former statesman's work of mobilising Africa's progressive forces, support platforms for dialogue and reflection that seek to promote efforts for Africa's political, social, economic and cultural aspiration.

"We invite South Africans to tune in on Thursday for this joint birthday celebration of President Mbeki and Power 98.7. These celebrations will also showcasing Power 98.7 capacity's to unleash the power of listeners. "The past four years, Power 98.7 has earned the status of being recognised as South Africa's leading platform for authentic conversations about pertinent Society. We invite all power people to honour this rememberable and historic occasion "said Mkhari.

The inaugural Chairman Conversation will be live on Power 98.7 (889 DSTV Audio Bouquet), Capricorn FM (884 DSTV Audio Bouquet) and eNCA, channel 403 from 19:30
