There's a petition to have Phat Joe removed from East Coast Radio

Cape Town - A resident of Durban has set up an online petition to have East Coast Radio Drive host, Phat Joe, taken off air.

The resident, who is also a mother to a 13-year-old child, voiced her concerns about the type of content expressed during the show.

She is also using the hashtag #phatjoemustgo to promote the petition.

Some of the reasons for wanting the DJ removed from ECR Drive are:

1. Making racist comments on air.
2. Sexual content on every show.
3. Making jokes about serial rape, and jail rape.

You can have a look at the petition here

Some of the supporter comments include, "Daytime radio is no place for irresponsible, offensive content" and "He is inappropriate and violates the standards of the code of conduct."

At the the time of publishing, the petition had more than 2 000 supporters.
