Twitter is split over Nomuzi Mabena’s mini-rant

Cape Town - Local Skhanda Queen, Nomuzi Mabena had Twitter all twisted when she voiced her opinion on how much celebs get paid by brands.

On Wednesday morning, local hip-hop muso, Nomuzi Mabena went on a mini-rant about how brands don't want to fork out the big bucks for celebs, but offer them "peanuts" instead.

She tweeted, "I often get mad at the brands that offer peanuts for these deals but the real problem is the people that keep saying yes to the peanuts. (sic)"

Not long after the tweet was sent, local radio DJ and TV host, Lerato Kganyago joined the conversation to her show her support for Nomuzi. She tweeted, "The people that mess us up, are the ones that DONT mind to exploited by these brands @NoMoozlie and they mess it up for ALL of us! (sic)"

Not one to shy away from social media controversy, bad boy rapper, AKA got in on the action and gave Nomuzi a retweet. The following day he tweeted, "I don't know what it is, but a lot of us South Africans are afraid to have confrontations or conversations about getting paid."

But some users didn't agree with the local hip-hip star, saying that the struggle is real out on the streets and that every cent counts.

While others applauded her for taking a stand.
