WATCH: Derek Plaatjies' golden buzzer moment on SA's Got Talent

Cape Town - SA's Got Talent judge Shado Twala sent singer Derek Plaatjies straight to the semi-finals with the first golden buzzer of the season. 

You might remember, Derek became an overnight internet sensation after a video of him singing at a train station went viral. The 23-year-old from Saron in the Western Cape hopes to inspire other young people from small towns to follow their dreams no matter how challenging their circumstances may be.

Derek wowed the judges (and South Africa) with is rendition of Sam Smith's, I'm not the only one.
