WATCH: Miss SA speaks out after hijacking

Johannesburg – After narrowly escaping a highjacking on Wednesday, Miss SA Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters has spoken out about the incident on social media.

In a video posted to Instagram the beauty queen describes what took place saying: “As many of you have probably heard, I was in an attempted highjacking. It definitely wasn’t the best feeling ever having three guns pointed to your head but lucky I knew exactly what to do and how to react.”

Demi-Leigh mentions in the clip that she just so happened to take a defensive driving course the Monday before the incident, and took a few other classes before that which taught her "techniques" to use should she be caught in a dangerous situation.

“When the incident happened I knew exactly what to do,” she says, adding that she knew that she was about to be highjacked when she spotted the men.
