Pabi Moloi traumatised by N1 giraffe's death

Radio personality Pabi Moloi has described the death of the N1 giraffe as traumatic. The giraffe died yesterday after knocking its head when the truck it was on drove under a bridge.

Pabi, who witnessed the whole thing, told eNCA: "I'm still shaken. It's very interesting that these aren't human beings but I felt such a connection to this sight on a random industrial road. In the middle of the city you see these glorious animals and to see something like that has just been horrific for me."

The giraffe were being transported to Pretoria. Pabi said she was surprised and amazed to see a pair of giraffe at the back of a truck.  "I whipped out my phone and took some photographs of them. I didn't see that we were approaching  a bridge. And the impact of the giraffe's head on the bridge was so loud that my cousin who was driving me asked if someone had been shot," she said.

She added that she dropped her phone and screamed. "I was traumatised by this."

Horrific!
