Actor and producer Psyfo has been accused of giving two artists the same beat. This has apparently caused a lot of tension for the musicians involved. Sabelo "Ghost" Ncube told Sunday Sun that he is now being called a copycat, thanks to Psyfo.
Speaking through his manager, Kgabo Tlhako, of Nautical Star Team, shared his disappointmed in Psyfo for producing two similar songs for different musicians. It reportedly started last year when Ghost was in studio with Psyfo where he recorded and composed the song Hai Suka, which was produced by Psyfo.
"Psyfo and Ghost co-wrote the chorus and worked on the song arrangement together, while Ghost wrote his own rap verses," Kgabo told Sunday Sun.
The song was apparently meant to be Ghost’s first single from his debut album, Favourite.
But according to the paper, six months later, just as they were about to launch Ghost, another song by DJ Sliqe featuring Kwesta and Flabba, titled Do Like I Do, with similar beats, was released.
Psyfo told Sunday Sun: "Everybody has their own signature style. It's unfortunate that artists expect producers to promote them. Also, maybe he has issues with the fact that Kwesta's song is bigger and more popular, but unfortunately my job is to produce, not to promote artists."
Whoa! We smell another Drake and Diddy situation! We hope no one gets beaten up this time.
