Johannesburg - Reeva Steenkamp's mom, June has opened up about Oscar being eligible for house arrest after ten months behind bars.
Oscar's lawyer, Johan Kruger, revealed on Monday that they were hoping that the former paralympian would be released as soon as August.
The former athlete was sentenced to five years in prison for the shooting of his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day in 2013.
Following the statements by his lawyer, June has told The Citizen that spending ten months in jail for taking Reeva's life was not enough.
"I don't think its a good idea to let him back in society so quickly. He shot my daughter through that door where she had no space to move or defend herself. One of the bullets blew her brains out, it is disgusting what he did to her…10 months is just not enough," she told the paper.
Even though June says that she has forgiven Oscar and does not want him to suffer, she feels that he has to pay for what he has done.
"Justice must be done, otherwise there will be chaos," she added.
