Reeva's parents: "It was the best we could have expected"

Reeva Steenkamp's parents have expressed their relief that Oscar Pistorius is serving jail time.

June and Barry Steenkamp exclusively spoke to HELLO! magazine, where they opened up about how they feel now that the trial is over.

June explained that it's been a long and terrible journey since Reeva's death. Despite it being incredibly difficult they both want to get on with their lives.

They added that they're happy that Oscar's being punished for what he's done but also say they didn't want vengeance.

Barry, who is a horse-trainer, says he's looking forward to going back home to his horses. June plans to live her life by carrying on with Reeva's wishes of opening a home for abused women. June plans to call it The Reeva Foundation.

"I'll be busy making this happen and helping the women who Reeva wanted to rescue. In this way we'll keep Reeva's name alive," she told the mag.
