Clash of Choirs winners want money from Robbie & Ma' Ribs

Johannesburg - There were tears of joy when their choir won Clash of the Choirs last year, but it's all apparently gone sour, and now the choir want their money for performing on Ma Ribs' album.

According to Daily Sun, the KZN choir who won the hit music competition last year,  known as Team Robbie on the show, say they have not been paid a cent for the backing vocals they contributed throughout Rebecca Malope's latest album, Ama VIP.

They say they have tried to get hold of Rebecca and Robbie Malinga to get their money, but they have been given the run around.

Choir members claim that the group now struggle to rehearse because they do not have money and have already seen five members of the group leave.

They say the situation has left them feeling "used by the people we trusted" and that they expected more from Robbie and Rebecca.

"I believe Robbie and Rebecca knew what they were doing to us. They knew we had less knowledge of the industry than them," a choir member told the paper.

But both Rebecca and Robbie have distanced themselves from the dispute, referring all questions to record label, Universal.

We guess all they wanted was AmaVip treatment.
