Johannesburg- Veteran actor Mbongeni Ngema has reportedly left Gold Digger's producers hanging after walking off set.
Even though e.tv is yet to officially confirm the cast of the upcoming telenovela, which starts in August, Mbongeni was rumoured to be joining the show. (Read that story here)
Now Sunday Sun is reporting that the actor, who was already shooting for the show, lost his temper and stormed off set.
Apparently 50 episodes had already been shot when Mbongeni decided he had enough.
"He just left and it was chaotic, because he was the one of the main characters," a source told the paper.
It's believed that producers have since asked Menzi Ngubane to step in for his colleague. It is unclear why Mbongeni left in a huff, but the paper's sources believe that it was because shooting took up too much of his time and his other projects were suffering as a result.
e.tv's Matlapuna Ragoasha told the paper that it could not reveal any details about the Gold Diggers cast. However, just last week, TVSA released a report with the full cast list. (Read that story here)
