Retailers not yet convinced by DJ Sbu's energy drink

DJ Sbu is apparently having a tough time convincing retailers to stock his energy drink. The radio and TV presenter launched Mofaya in 2014 and has been hard at work promoting it on social media.

But according to sources, the DJ was shocked that big retailers are not are not keen to stock his product.

A source told Sunday Sun: "He's a hustler of note and his never-say-die spirit is very inspiring. But he's frustrated because he has to rely on himself and his team to get the brand out there. Retail stores are not even bothered by his energy drink and now panic is starting to set in."

But Sbu told the paper that there is no need to panic because his strategy was to create demand so that big retail outlets can take note and stock up on his brand. "I approached one major retailer last year but it's a long process to get a product on their shelves. So I shifted the focus to township supermarkets and small businesses."
