SA boxer in serious condition after shooting

Well-known boxer, Jarred Silverman, remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital after being involved in a shooting incident at Deep in the Woods music festival on Saturday.

There are reports that the shooting, which took place at Meyers Farm in Alberton, was 'gang related.'  There are media reports indicate that the boxer was involved in an altercation with two other men. The Citizen reports that the Silverman family has a long-standing feud with the Swartz family.

It's believed that at least two other party-goers were caught in the crossfire and police have confirmed that three cases of attempted murder have been opened.

Meanwhile, another gun related incident took place after a shootout outside popular night spot, Eastwoods in Belville. Two people were injured in that shooting.
