The SABC has assured fans and advertisers that the hit soapie will continue.
This comes hot on the heels of the decision to fire 16 cast members, which sent the general public into a frenzy.
SABC spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago told The Juice that while there were no developments in the matter, there was no need for fans to worry.
"People don't need to worry as we have recorded Generations footage two months in advance," he explained.
Kaizer explained that contracts were terminated after striking cast members' were given extended deadlines to return to work. "We still believe that their demands are unreasonable. The SABC agreed to the three year contracts but not the wage increase demands," he said.
Kaizer also rubbished claims that Generations' actors were being paid less than their colleagues at other soapies like 7De Laan. "There is no truth to this at all. We know what rates are being paid and some Generations cast members are among the highest paid in the industry," he added.
