Which actors are making the most in South Africa?

Well, according to DRUM, the highest paid actors are in fact on etv and not from Generations - as previous reports have stated. The magazine revealed that Scandal and Rhythm City stars are number one when it comes to salaries.

DRUM quoted three independent sources, who mentioned that Sello Maake Ka Ncube (Scandal), Jamie Bartlet and Moshidi Motshegwa (Rhythm City) each get paid between R100 000 and R120 000 per month. According to the magazine, the three actors are contracted to production companies.

Quizzical Pictures, which produces Rhythm City, reportedly has the best rates when it comes to experienced actors.

The actors' salary saga comes after 16 Generations actors were fired for striking. Although Sello refused to confirm his salary to DRUM, he revealed: "When I was on Generations I fought alone, no actor supported me. I was on my own. People must fight their own battles and leave me alone."
