Senzo Meyiwa's dad may be left out in the cold

Johannesburg- It's almost nine months since soccer star Senzo Meyiwa was shot and killed in a botched robbery.

And, following Senzo's death, there's been no shortage of controversy in the Meyiwa household. From public spats between his then girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo and his father Sam Meyiwa, to police being accused of bundling the case, it's definitely been a roller-coaster.

Daily Sun is reporting that Senzo's grieving father may be left out in the cold if the soccer star did not have a will in place.

It's believed that there is about R5 million in a PSL account, which will automatically go to the mothers of his children.

Just last week Sam made headlines for saying that Kelly K will not get a cent of Senzo's money, but according to an advocate who spoke to the paper, Sam could be the one left without a cent. (Find that story here)

According to the law, the mothers of senzo's children will be legal guardians, and the money will be managed by the court on behalf of the children until they turn 21.

The Meyiwa family spokesperson refused to reveal if the soccer star had a will in place. Meanwhile, police are still investigating the Senzo's murder and the suspects are still at large.
