He was the king of blindsides but last night saw Shane Hattingh the victim of the very game he played. Despite having two immunity idols and thinking his 'alliance' with Graham (Jenneker) was tight, Shane got voted off last night.
Despite the blindside, Shane says he knew it was a risk. "Graham is a sneaky player. I knew I was getting into bed with the devil. I risked it and it wasn't really a surprise," he told us.
Shane says he is the ultimate Survivor fan and is angry about how some people are playing. "I would never hang out with David. I went into the game to win. David (De Wet) went in just to see how far he would get. There's no skill in that."
But in the end, David is still there, so surely that means he outwitted you, we asked? "No. David got outwitted every hour. There's no skill in that. Isn't that why people watch? To see who wants to win, not who can get as far as they can," he retorted.
From the start, Marion (De Vos) was his number one partner. She got voted off earlier on and is part of the jury. Shane still holds her in high regard. "Marion was the single best player that I have ever seen on Survivor. We never voted anyone off to be cruel. We voted off people who were trying to attack what we were doing."
Shane has also hit out at former Survivor players who have been critical of this episode of Survivor, some claiming it was easier than previous seasons "Hykie Berg and Roxy Burger have been making comments. They wouldn't last 24 hours in this season. Like Roxy is the bastion of...oh, never mind."
Ooh, ouch!
Sounds like a challenge to us! Maybe, just maybe, Mnet would consider an all-stars show?
