Simphiwe Dana gears up to rock the Apollo

Simphiwe Dana will be taking to the legendary Apollo theatre stage this weekend and she's soaking up the experience.

The soul singer is one of four artists, including The Soil and Hugh Masekela, representing South Africa at the Africa Now! music event to be hosted at the Apollo theatre in New York on Saturday.

Simphiwe arrived in New York earlier this week for the event and didn't waste time  sending pics home of her adventures so far.

Simphiwe took the chance to visit the UN to see a familiar face in Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, and got some snaps of her name up in lights at the Apollo.

Check out her American adventure!
