Simphiwe Dana goes on ANOTHER rant!

Sjoe, some people just like to think all philosophical in the morning, hey?

One of those people who enjoy giving their brains a sweat while we're still busy eating our oats is Simphiwe Dana. The soul singer took to Twitter and Instagram early this morning to launch a calculated attack on black power and patriarchy (we say calculated because she even gave the rant a nice cartoon picture of a woman on a leash).

On her Instagram post she wrote; "some African men...and some women see feminism as an enemy of African culture. Because they confuse patriarchy with culture," before diving into a long schpeel about how patriarchy or men leading our country was to blame for all the evils we experience.

"Most cultures of the world have gone through a patriarchal phase, most have not completely recovered from it. Around the globe, for most women to succeed they must be objectifiable. Tick all the boxes in the fantasies of men/Man", she wrote, before advocating a return to "African culture".

Even the presidents of the world weren't immune from her rant. She questioned how many presidents have not been tarnished by power and advocated for woman to take over. "It is our world now" she wrote of woman taking their place in society.

"The old guard should hand over. But they cannot if we're absent from politics. Afro feminism is not the enemy of Africa's progress. Afro feminism sets out to iron the kinks in our evolutionary journey. Please stop attacking feminists. They are not the enemy. Patriarchy is".

Wow! Okay then, Simphiwe!
