Simphiwe says Black Coffee 'beef' was a misunderstanding

Johannesburg - Remember when Simphiwe Dana asked DJ Black Coffee not to remix her music? Well, she says it was all a misunderstanding.

The incident, which occurred several years ago when Simphiwe Dana was still new in the industry, saw Simphiwe apparently lose her cool with Black Coffee after he remixed her song, Ndiredi without her permission.

But Simphiwe explains: "At the time I said that Black Coffee should not remix my music yet. Cause I was very new in the industry... With a very different sound too", Dana told Sowetan recently.

"I didn't want people to want to book a 'Simphiwe Dana of Black Coffee's remix' then when I get there they say 'where is that sound'. I didn't want my brand to be misunderstood at a very early stage in my career," she explains.

Any chance of the two doing a collab in the future now that the air has been cleared? We certainly hope so.
