Skeem Saam is winning, y'all!
The drama, which has temporarily replaced Generations, has viewers glued to their screens. The Citizen reported that data from the SA Audience Research Foundation revealed that a week prior to the drama moving from its 6.30pm time slot to 8pm, the show's viewership was at 3.5 million per show on average.
But the ratings went up when Skeem Saam took over the 8pm slot last week, with a viewership of to 8 881 352 million. The paper added that by last Friday, the number went down slightly to just over 7.6 million viewers. That's still good, right?
SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago told the paper: “Viewership doesn’t sell ads; the time slot in a show is in does."
Erm, okay Kaizer.
