Johannesburg- Friends, family and fans will gather in Hammersdale today to bid farewell to music legend, David Masondo.
The Soul Brother's frontman died at the age of 67 last Sunday evening at the Garden City Hospital in Johannesburg.
The iconic singer was admitted to the hospital a week before, where he was treated for exhaustion. When news of the singer's death emerged, the entire nation was left shocked and saddened.
Tributes continued to pour in for him throughout the week, with everyone remembering him for his contribution to the music industry.
President Jacob Zuma extended his condolences to David's family saying his death was a loss to the entire nation. (Read that story here)
The Soul Brother's founder was also honoured with two memorial services on Thursday in Johannesburg and in his hometown, Hammersdale.
Mourners struggled to fight back tears at the memorial as David's life was remembered.
Proceedings are expected to begin at 9am.
